Gender Equality and Human Rights

Sexual Reproductive Health & Rights
We are committed to promoting Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) among adolescents. Through our core program, we engage in community outreach, conduct health screenings, and provide essential Personal Hygiene kits to empower and support the well-being of young people in our communities, Schools, provide health trainings/screening of girls and women. Together, we are building a healthier and more informed future for Zambia’s youth.
Adolescent Girls Program (Empowering the girl child is Impacting the Communities for Generations),
CISED focuses on building adolescent girls’ capacities for individual empowerment and social flourishment, especially in patriarchal environments or Communities that do not value and respect the rights of girls and women. CISED tackles gender inequalities head-on to ensure that women and girls become advocates for their human rights and build their self-esteem, autonomy, and self-worth in the society.
Without access to clean water, good toilets and sanitary towels, girls can miss up to a week of lessons every month when they are on their period. They fall behind in class and can be forced to drop out of school altogether.

Grace's Story
Grace is 16 and from Zambia. She used to miss lessons when she was on her period. “I would come to school late because I would have to go home at lunch time to change, and it would take me an hour to walk there and back, so I would miss classes in the afternoon.”
We built new latrines with washing facilities at Grace’s school, so she can get to lessons on time, and pursue her dream of becoming a nurse.

We are now building a Safe Space Build at our field offices which will not only be a rescue place but a place for women & girls to access digital information & knowledge in addition to SRHR Services.
