Tendai is a development expert with vast experience managing various donor funded projects in health, education, gender, youth, disability inclusion, food security and livelihoods, and financial inclusion. She has worked with non-profit organisations such as the UN Refugee Agency, Caritas Czech Republic, FSD Zambia and a research company called Ipsos.

A certified Gender Equity Change Maker, Digital Finance Practioner, Market Systems Development Certified and Project Management Specialist, who has contributed to improved livelihoods of vulnerable women, youth, people living with disabilities and refugees through supporting work by various market actors to develop client centric products and services such as the National Financial Education Supplementary Materials and piloting of the digitised school fee payments in Zambia. She has also contributed through working groups to the reviews of the National strategies such as the National Financial Inclusion Strategy and National Strategy on Financial Education for Zambia.

Other works have been quality improvement of maternal and neonatal health care in Western Province Zambia  through revamping of the provincial death committees, monitoring construction of the of the Nalikwanda and Sefula mothers shelters,Nkeyema midwifery dormitory, the Lewanika  maternity annex and quality improvement which led  to the conversion of the Lewanika Nursing School from enrolled to registered nursing and contributed to the opening of safe motherhood school clubs with, increase in  safe motherhood action groups (SMAGs) and food banks which led to  improved nutrition, transportation and communication.

Tendai was also part of the team that organised the first ever regional gender workshop aimed to promote women’s financial inclusion by strengthening the institutional capacity of SADC member states to effectively apply a gender lens to strategic planning and evaluation of programs/projects and was able to lead a commission on Women in Agriculture.
